Arcadian Meets Dash Mihok & Cast of the movie “Lifted”!

Hi! We attended the “Red Carpet” Premier of “Lifted” in Lakeland, FL at the Polk Theatre, on May 7th, 2011, that will be released in September, 2011.

Such an inspirational and uplifting film honoring all of our Fallen Heroes, stars Dash Mihok, Uriah Shelton and Nicki Aycox and more! It’s an amazing 5-Star Cast film! A must see for everyone!

Director Lexi Alexander.

All the monies raised at the Red Carpet Premier will benefit Jaylen’s Challenge Foundation.

DC Trip Updates – Who Was There!

In Washington DC, Arcadian first and foremost got to meet some incredibly courageous kids! He was honored to stand beside them and to celebrate their triumphs.

“I am truly blessed to be a part of SAMHSA 2011,” he said. “Thank you to all who worked so hard to make this event happen.” At….

The National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day 2011 National Event,

Arcadian felt privileged to perform in front of many of the dignitaries and distinguished guests who were there.

Just to mention a few of them:

Regina Benjamin, United States Surgeon General

Rocco Landesman; Chairman, National Endowment for the Arts

Kathleen Sebelius; Secretary, US. Department of Health and Human Services

Pamela Hyde; Administrator, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services

Kathryn Power; Director, Center for Mental Health Service

Bryan Samuels, Commissioner on Children, Youth and Families

He also enjoyed meeting the “warm and funny” Jamie Lee Curtis; Golden Globe actress and author.

Arcadian says that meeting Byron Pitts, Emmy award-winning journalist of CBS 60 Minutes, inspired me to be who I am.

The event inspired him to “work hard and be grateful for all that you have”. “God has blessed us with abilities to reach our dreams and inspire others.”

It was a memorable event.

SAMHSA Arcadian’s Performance 2011

SAMHSA – (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) – Arcadian’s Trip

Arcadian’s trip to DC for the National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day 2011 National Event was an event he’ll remember for a long time.

Arcadian was honored beyond honored! to be there performing for this cause and being in the company of so many.

It’s a long video, but it starts out with a preview of Arcadian and then his actual performance on stage at the event and then a great few minutes with Jamie Lee Curtis and Arcadian… and goes from there.

Byron Pitts gave an amazing opening introduction right after the stage performance, where he gave some warm, personal insights from his own life and how he relates to Arcadian.

Awareness Day 2011

Awareness Day 2011

On May 3, 2011 in Washington DC an amazing and wonderful event is taking place as a tribute to honor young people everywhere who have experienced trauma in their young lives but sustained it all with their deep resilience.

* True stories will be recounted onstage.

* Featured artwork from children who were directly affected by 9/11 will be exhibited.

* Professional entertainers (including Arcadian Broad) will perform during the Evening Program.

Actress Jamie Lee Curtis is the Honorary Chair for this wonderful Awareness Day event.

CBS News Chief National Correspondent Byron Pitts is the event’s Emcee for the evening.

This is a wonderful time to see all this and more, to see what (U.S. Secretary Kathleen Sebelius), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is doing for this cause.

Through it’s ‘Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’, the National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day 2011 event will give us all a chance to look at the strength exhibited in this presentation of our amazing young people.
