From the Spacecoast of Florida to the World…Part I

The Cerreno Dance Festival Jose CerrenoSince we’re on the subject of Arcadian Broad….

Let me entertain you!  There’s a rumor down here in sunny Florida, here on the Space Coast in Titusville, FL.  (you know where all the rockets take off?)  Well, Oops!  Wait, did I say rumor?  Correction.

I’ll back up.  We’ll call it an “early morning wake-up email that gives you that ‘Yayyyy’  all the way to the coffee pot, early-morning-start kind of  email!” The real thing email.

Like when the rockets take off…. That kind of start!

Arcadian had gotten back from New York.  From Juilliard.  And he just performed in Sarasota, FL.  Okay…

So like a rocket launching  here at Kennedy Space Center,  you just knew as you read, that just as it climbs up and up through the grip of the earth’s gravity, that nothing can or will be able to  hold it back.   It’s got too much going inside.  And  just like the gravity is no match for the rocket,  there’s no match for  Arcadian’s  dreams either.

Sarasota Florida FL The Jose Cerreno Dance Festival 2012“… Sarasota, FL.  Summer 2012.  Arcadian,  just home from New York City, is selected to attend and perform in The Carreno Dance Festival    with Jose Carreno….” the email read.

The what?  With who??  Quickly I googled.  It was only a minute before the impact of it hit me.  (Part of the ‘wake up yayyy thing’……!)

Jose Carreno. “Performing Artist, Master Teacher… International superstar of the ballet world, José Manuel Carreño (who) recently retired as a principal dancer with American Ballet Theatre. “

That Jose Manuel Carreno.  That Festival.  “The Carreno Dance Festival, with President and CEO Robert de Warren. Where he trained with ABT  ( recently retired) Principal Dancer, Jose Carreno, and amazing guest teachers Yuri Fateev, Loipa Araujo, Carlos dos Santos, Jr., Magaly Suarez.”…

And so, as I read on,  I started to hear that rocket taking off.  I mean, like for real.  The thunder.  That thunder rocks your world sometimes.  You actually just feel it from your head to your toes, when you’re right close to it.

I wondered.  I thought about Arcadian’s mom, as I read, and how she was feeling this thunder herself today.  I’m sure she was feeling something that felt  like a heartbeat.  Something like only a mother’s heartbeat.  Some of you would probably agree…

It is the real thing, that we do know.    And as it keeps getting better, you just marvel at it more.

The little guy who quietly walked out into his kitchen that day his mom introduced me to him,  it seemed this morning,  was riding atop yet another set  of boosters  launching him even higher and higher this time.   Boosters, you know,  that spell  ‘hard work, dedication,  phenomenal talent and passion’ on them.  Those ones.

And it’s so exciting…because we can watch it all happen.

Clearly, an exciting email.  Clearly an exciting three weeks with the Festival.  Clearly another fantastic achievement-filled summer for Arcadian Broad.

But wait…there’s so much more…

And more.  We’ll have to save it for  next time.

But remember.  It – just – keeps – getting – better.  ( I said that right?)

Thanks for stopping by and check back for Part II today.  Till then….

Blessings.
